Administrative Director – David Archer

David is Principal Trombone of The National Ballet of Canada Orchestra, a position he has held since 1981.  He also performs with Esprit Orchestra, The Hannaford Street Silver Band and the 7th Toronto Regiment Royal Canadian Artillery Band.  He teaches trombone and baritone at The Royal Conservatory of Music.

David received a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Alberta and has attended the Banff School of Fine Arts for two summers and the Aspen Music School.  He studied with Victor Horrocks, Dr. Malcolm Forsyth, Dr. Per Brevig and Donald Miller.

As a freelancer, David has performed with Canadian Opera Company, Windsor Symphony, Kitchener Waterloo Symphony, Toronto Consort, Hamilton Philharmonic, Opera Hamilton, and Patria Music Theatre Projects.

David is a member of the International Trombone Association, the American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada and the Organization of Canadian Symphony Musicians
